The developers of Diablo 4 want to adjust the storage and crafting of gems in the game in the long term. This should give players more inventory space while gems are kept elsewhere.
Anyone who is currently roaming through the Diablo 4 game world will quickly notice that the developers have made some changes compared to the predecessors. But one gameplay feature remains virtually untouched and feels a bit outdated, causing the community’s frustration. We are talking about the inventory of our character.
Gems will now move to the Materials tab
Because our bag looks almost the same as in Diablo 3. The problem with this: Because we collect a lot of loot when slicing demons, the inventory quickly fills up. In addition, because each individual quality level of each individual gem takes up its own slot, our pocket space for other items shrinks to an almost unbearable level, especially later in the game. The fans are therefore asking the developers to have their own inventory for gems.
But now a solution to this problem is in sight. During the first Campfire Diablo 4 live stream
“The idea is that we change the way players get the gems so that they have their own slot in the material or currency tab instead of in the inventory. The way that would work is that you make a gem the same way you used to, and you just used a certain amount of that material.“
However, Sheley has not given any more details on how this type of gem management will work, nor has he given a rough release date for a corresponding feature. The change is expected to come with Season 2 of Diablo 4. This should also be accompanied by an adjustment of the materials cap, which is currently 9,999 units.
