Employees at Boulder’s Open Space & Mountain Park spot the predator’s unusual photos on camera.

The bear doesn’t do things by halves during its photo session: around 400 of the 580 photos are of the animal, which is mainly active at dusk.

Excerpts of this selfie marathon will be posted on the park’s Instagram page. Users react enthusiastically to the photos of the furry “model”.

The wildlife cameras are equipped with motion sensors and are used by park staff to observe animal behavior without disturbing them by human presence.

Black bears are native to much of North America. The curious omnivores can weigh up to 400 kilograms and reach a length of up to 1.8 meters.
