BJV reacts to Burda’s AI magazine: “Undermines trust” – media

The Bavarian Journalists’ Association (BJV) is concerned about the use of artificial intelligence at the Hubert Burda publishing house. Last week he had designed a complete magazine with AI content for the first time without making it clear, as SZ research showed. In the extra issue of Lisa cooking & baking on the subject of “99 pasta recipes”, both the content and the images were AI-generated. When asked, a spokesman admitted that chat GPT and Midjourney had been used and spoke of an “experiment”. Apparently, a conscious decision was made not to inform readers about the use of AI. The “target group,” according to the press office’s brief statement, “should be able to receive the magazine in a neutral manner.”
