BJV President Weidenbusch does not want an extraordinary meeting – Bavaria

In the internal dispute of the Bavarian Hunting Association (BJV), according to President Ernst Weidenbusch, the extraordinary meeting demanded by his critics will not take place. In order to bring together the necessary number of applicants, the relevant district associations “needed so long that the ordinary general meeting had already been invited,” said Weidenbusch on Friday at the opening of the “Hunting and Fishing” trade fair in Augsburg. The BJV meeting should therefore take place on March 11th in Hof. Several media had previously reported that, according to the association, there should be no extraordinary meeting.

Weidenbusch’s critics want to push through a new presidential election. Ludwig von Lerchenfeld has already positioned himself as an opposing candidate. “The situation in our hunting association is not good at all,” Lerchenfeld explains his application. “It must no longer be the case that we attract attention in public primarily through internal disputes and threatening manners.”

Lerchenfeld from Upper Franconia sat in the state parliament for the CSU until 2018. At the meeting in March, the motions of his critics would of course be dealt with, said Weidenbusch. “But I personally have the information from the legal adviser that an extraordinary (meeting) was done for that reason.”

In November, former employees of the BJV state office published their criticism of the management style of the hunting president in an open letter. Among other things, they accused him of insults, disrespectful handling and outbursts of anger. Some district groups then applied for an extraordinary general meeting. According to Weidenbusch, this is “a group of about ten to 15 percent of the district groups”.

From the point of view of his critics, Weidenbusch’s refusal is a massive violation of the association’s regulations. “That’s strong stuff,” says, for example, the Jäger boss in the Dachau district, Ernst-Ulrich Wittmann. “Weidenbusch tramples on our association statutes.” Proceedings are therefore pending at the Munich District Court to force the extraordinary assembly.
