Björn Ulvaeus starts his own radio show. In “Björn from ABBA and Friends” the ABBA star interviews various companions of the band.

Björn Ulvaeus (76) starts his own radio show on Apple Music Hits. As the Apple Music radio program announced in a press release, the ABBA founding member will talk to various companions about everything to do with the cult band in the four-part series “Björn from ABBA and Friends”.

On the first episode of the radio show, Ulvaeus shares the secrets of songwriting, ABBA’s enduring influence and the key to the band’s success with record producer Nile Rodgers. Episodes two and three feature Catherine Johnson, playwright of the “Mamma Mia!” musical, and episode four features Johan Renck, creative director of the “ABBA Voyage” concerts.

Björn Ulvaeus is looking for answers

“I’m excited to bring the show to Apple Music Hits because I’ve long wanted to ask some emotionally intelligent and also intellectual people who know ABBA why they think our songs have lasted so long – almost 40 years – because I don’t understand it myself,” says Björn Ulvaeus. He has already spoken to many people about it, but nobody has found a really good answer. That’s what the series was about. “Perhaps my guests here in this series will help me understand it.”

“Björn from ABBA and Friends” is available now on Apple Music. The individual episodes will air this week at 21:00 (CET) on the radio station Apple Music Hits aired.
