The journalist Birte Meier has been in a legal dispute with ZDF for eight years. It’s about whether the multi-award-winning reporter of the magazine frontal 21 did the same work as their male colleagues but were paid less because of their gender. The case went through several instances, it produced a landmark judgment and was scrutinized by the Federal Constitutional Court. Now Birte Meier and ZDF have come to an agreement.
