This hoax about Biontech boss Uğur Şahin is currently spreading on social media.
An interview excerpt is used to give the impression that the German doctor was not yet vaccinated against Covid-19 in December 2021.
“I heard you haven’t been vaccinated. Why not?”
“I am not legally entitled to receive the vaccination at the moment. Of course we consider making this possible. “
But what about the false report?
The interview in which Şahin says that he has not yet received a corona vaccination is from December 2020. The clip will be used around a year later to deliberately mislead other social media users and spread false reports.
A company spokesman made it clear to the Reuters news agency that Şahin had already been vaccinated at the beginning of 2021 and has now also received a booster vaccination. His old statements are now “completely out of date”.
The case shows how easily outdated video content can be used to spread false reports and misleading claims about people in public.
