Bill Murray: Filming halted for ‘inappropriate behavior’ – People

stop funny…

The production company “Searchlight Pictures” has stopped filming the movie “Being Mortal” with immediate effect and has put leading actor Bill Murray (71, “Lost in Translation”) on leave, as several US media reports. The reason: Apparently inappropriate behavior on the set.

On Wednesday, the production company sent an email to all of the film’s staff, telling them that filming is being suspended due to an unspecified incident: “A complaint was brought to our attention at the end of last week and we acted on it immediately,” it says after BILD information in the mail.

It’s still unclear if Murray will remain on board the film or if he will be replaced by another actor. Since filming started at the end of March, almost half of the film has been completed so far.

Particularly spicy: Behind the movie “Being Mortal” is Hollywood all-rounder Aziz Ansari (39, “Master of None”), who not only wrote the screenplay, directed it, produced the work and stood in front of the camera next to Murray.

Ansari took a “creative hiatus” in 2018 after allegations of sexual misconduct were leveled at him. Being Mortal was to be his comeback to the big screen.

Upon request, “Searchlight Pictures” has so far refused to comment on the internal investigations.
