Now the station is bringing the Penny actress’ new series to free TV for the first time. “Based on a True Story” starts on March 11, 2024. An episode of the thriller comedy will be shown on ProSieben every Monday at 8:15 p.m. So in the old time slot of “The Big Bang Theory”.

“Based on a True Story”: That’s what Kaley Cuoco’s new series is about

Kaley Cuoco stars as Ava Bartlett in Based on a True Story. The pregnant real estate agent is a big fan of true crime podcasts and isn’t particularly successful in her career. Her husband, the former tennis professional Nathan (Chris Messina, 49), loses his job as a trainer.

One day there will be a chance to end the financial hardships. A young woman is murdered near her, the latest victim of the Westside Ripper serial killer. Ava is sure who the killer is: her plumber Matt (Tom Bateman, 34). Instead of turning him over to the police, Ava comes up with a plan. She starts a podcast with her husband and forces Matt to talk about his murders. But a serial killer is difficult to control.

“Based on a True Story” parodies the contemporary obsession with true crime. But it is not based on a real case. The series premiered on Peacock on June 8, 2023. The US streaming service ordered a second season in October.

For Kaley Cuoco, “Based on a True Story” is the second major series role after the end of “The Big Bang Theory” (2019). From 2020 to 2022, she was the star of “The Flight Attendant”, another comedy thriller.
