The Irish are everywhere in America, even the White House in Washington was once designed by an Irish-born architect. Joe Biden, a descendant of Irish emigrants to America, said so in Belfast on Wednesday, when he delivered his first speech of his visit to students at the university there. “If you enter my office in the Oval Office,” said the US President, “guess who built the White House, an Irishman”, the students laughed, which is why Biden immediately followed: “No joke!”
