The German biathletes are staying with the World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic, without a medal after the third day of competition. In the sprint, former world champion Benedikt Doll ran the best of a quartet in 13th place.

After two penalty laps, after ten kilometers the Black Forester was 1:41.2 minutes behind the new world champion Sturla Holm Laegreid, who had made no mistakes.

The Norwegians celebrated a triple triumph: last year’s champion Johannes Thingnes Bö came second (1+ 3.5 seconds) ahead of Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (1 mistake/+ 18.6 seconds).

Johannes Kühn (1 mistake) in 14th and Philipp Nawrath (1) in 16th were also unable to make it into the top ten, Philipp Horn (2) had to settle for 25th place. This means that the Germans are going into the chase on Sunday (5.05 p.m./ARD and Eurosport) with a mortgage and will probably have little chance of winning precious metal in this race either.
