Weather chaos: biathlete jokes
This year’s Biathlon World Championships start on Wednesday in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. However, the weather is currently causing problems for the organizers. However, Swedish biathlon star Hanna Öberg takes the weather conditions with humor.
The weather conditions are currently causing problems for the organizers of the Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. Temperatures of ten degrees, strong winds and rain are not the conditions you want for a big biathlon event.

But you can also see the situation loosely. Swedish biathlete Hanna Öberg made fun of the weather conditions on Instagram. In the video she shared, the 28-year-old is riding roller skis on an asphalt track – but there is no trace of snow. “Welcome to the Czech Republic, better weather conditions than in Östersund in May,” she wrote, adding a smiley face to her post.
However, the athletes’ training had to be canceled on Monday because the wind blew the artificial snow off the slopes. On Tuesday morning, the German Ski Association wrote at the request of the Sports show: “As of now, can be trained.”
Nevertheless, the organizers remain optimistic at the moment. Competition director Vlastimil Jakes explained: “We are constantly monitoring the weather forecast and hope for improvement in the second week of the World Cup.”
