Pablo Grant is dead. The rapper from the Berlin hip-hop group BHZ died at the age of 26. Just yesterday the band canceled their tour.

The German hip-hop scene is mourning the loss of a prominent member: Pablo Grant, rapper from the Berlin combo BHZ, has died at the age of just 26. As the group announced on their Instagram channel on Sunday evening, the artist passed away on February 6th. The cause of death is said to be thrombosis. “The family and friends of the deceased are heartbroken and ask that privacy be respected and that contact be refrained from during this difficult time,” it said. “We would like to thank all the fans who have accompanied and supported Pablo’s artistic path over the years.”

Just a few days earlier, the band had canceled their planned tour without replacement. The reason for this was “very short-term health reasons”. Tickets that have already been purchased can be returned. “We are incredibly sad and hope for your understanding.” The tour was actually supposed to start on February 8th in Vienna and on March 1st Berlin end.

Pablo Grant, also known as Pablo Grant-Zapata or under the stage name Dead Dawg, was born in Berlin in 1997. He was not only successful as a musician but also as an actor. He made his cinema debut in 2016 in the film “Bibi & Tina: Girls Against Boys” directed by Detlev Buck.

He also gained popularity for his role in the web series “Druck”, which was commissioned by the public youth program Funk and which tells about the everyday problems of young people at Berlin’s Barnim-Gymnasium. Grant appeared in the first two seasons.

He should be known to a wider audience from the Magdeburg “Polizeiruf 110”, since February 2020 he has had a permanent role as Chief Detective and later as Chief Detective Günther Márquez, who supports Commissioner Doreen Brasch, played by Claudia Michelsen, in her investigations in a total of five appearances .
