Beyoncé’s daughter Rumi Carter performs on the song “Protector” from her new album “Cowboy Carter”. She has now broken a chart record.

Rumi Carter (6) is overtaking her big sister. In March, Beyoncé (42) released her eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter,” and her first country record. Her youngest daughter is represented on it: Rumi sings along in the song “Protector”. The song rose in the Billboard Hot 100. This makes the six-year-old, who also has a twin brother, the youngest artist ever to be featured in the most important singles charts in the USA.

The song with Rumi’s guest appearance debuted at number 42 on the charts. Ranking is based on streaming numbers, airplay and sales. In its first week of release, “Protector” already garnered 11.3 million US streams. Never before has such a young artist achieved such numbers in the history of the Billboard Hot 100.

Rumi Carter takes over the record from her sister

However, the record remains in the family: Rumi’s sister Blue Ivy (12) previously held the record as the youngest artist in the Hot 100. She debuted in 2019 at the age of seven in the song “Brown Skin Girl” from the album The Lion King: The Gift. The LP was a collaboration between her mother Beyoncé and SAINt JHN (37) and Wizkid (33). The song featuring Blue Ivy peaked at number 76 on the Hot 100.

“Cowboy Carter” on the road to success

Rumi’s record is far from the only one that was broken with the album “Cowboy Carter”. The LP went straight to number one on the top country albums list. Beyoncé is the first black singer to achieve this. There was also Spotify according to “The Hollywood Reporter”.that the country album became the most streamed album on a single day of the year to date.

The album also went through the roof on Amazon Music. It earned the most first-day streams for a country album by a female artist in the streaming platform’s history. This makes Beyoncé’s eighth studio album her most successful album debut to date.

The American worked on “Cowboy Carter” for five years. The record was released on March 29th and contains 27 songs, including collaborations with Dolly Parton (78), Miley Cyrus (31) and Post Malone (28).
