Beyoncé released her new dance track Break My Soul overnight. The song is especially praised by the LGBTQ+ community.
In the night from Monday to Tuesday (June 21), Beyoncé (40) released a long-awaited new single called “Break My Soul”. The day before, the singer announced the release of the song with a cryptic Instagram bio. On Youtube the lyric video reached around two million clicks after just a few hours and the clip is also in the top ten of German trends. But how do the fans find the dance track with rap elements?
At drag shows people are already dancing to “Break My Soul”.
The hashtag “#BreakMySoul” has been trending on Twitter since the song was released. While numerous streaming services are already advertising Bey on the short message platform, fans are raving about the new hit. The almost five-minute song with its electro and gospel influences was so well received that people danced to it at drag shows shortly after it was released, like a Twitter user with a video indicates.
“You Won’t Break My Soul”
In particular, members of the LGBTQ+ community are celebrating the song on social media. They’re certain Beyoncé intentionally released the song during Pride Month. It’s also the sixth song on their album, as one user shows. Pride Month is the sixth month of the year. “She’s literally screaming ‘LGBT rights’,” he wrote. In the lyrics, the 40-year-old sings “You won’t break my soul”, which means “You won’t break my soul”.
Celebrities also commented on the single release. “Pose” actor Johnny Sibilly (34) shared a video of herself, in which he dances in front of homophobic protesters on the sidelines of a Pride party. “Break My Soul” is playing in the background. “I just had to do it,” he writes.
A new studio album by Beyoncé is set to follow Break My Soul. Streaming services like Spotify announced “Renaissance” for July 29th.
