Between Zemmour and his daughter, Jean-Marie Le Pen decides timidly

“Of course, I support my daughter who is the candidate for the National Rally. It’s quite natural.” Before meeting Marine Le Pen, her father, Jean-Marie, a historical figure of the far right, gave her his public support, at the microphone of LCI. This while the candidate of the Rassemblent national is faced with defections in her camp for the benefit of Zemmour and the hesitations of her own niece Marion Maréchal.

But Jean-Marie Le Pen, 93, did not have harsh words for his rival either. “I have sympathy for Eric (Zemmour). There is no problem,” he said.

“Treason is a habit in politics”

Regarding the latest rallies to the former polemicist, the founder of the National Front (now RN) minimized these movements: “Treason is a habit in politics”.

Jean-Marie Le Pen then returned to the hesitations of Marion Maréchal: “It happens that people have divergent opinions. It is regrettable that this is in the course of the electoral campaign and I understand that Marine Le Pen is still shocked by it. Passions prevail over reason,” he smiled.

Marion Maréchal had indicated Thursday evening to the Parisian: “I’m thinking, no decision has been made”, but “if I support Éric (Zemmour), it’s not just to hang around and say hello”.

The next day, Marine Le Pen judged it “brutal, violent”, insisting on the “personal aspect” of their relationship and ensuring that she was “better placed” on the far right to win.
