Whether Hugo, Aperol Spritz or Wildberry Lillet: On sunny days we crave a refreshing dip. In addition to the tried and tested classics that have sweetened our summers for many years, a new trend drink is emerging in 2023: Aperol Paloma. We’ll tell you the recipe.

Are you also one of those people who are longing for a new Aperol alternative? Then we have good news for you: This year there is a refreshing summer drink that contains similar components to a classic spritz – but is significantly stronger: The Aperol Paloma is mixed from tequila and orange liqueur as well as grapefruit and lime juice. This makes the delicious drink the trend drink of summer 2023. Below you will find out how you can recreate the cocktail at home. Cheers!

Recipe idea: Aperol Paloma – ingredients & preparation

For an Aperol Paloma you need these ingredients:

Extra tip: You can use fresh citrus fruits (such as oranges, limes, grapefruit or lemons) as a garnish. Alternatively, you can also use dried fruit; all you have to do is cut the slices thinly and let them dry in a warm place for at least 24 hours.

And this is how you prepare the Aperol Paloma:

  1. Step: Ideally, take one Cocktail shaker and fill it halfway with ice cubes.
  2. Step: Pour the measured amounts of Aperol, tequila, orange liqueur, lime and grapefruit juice into the shaker.
  3. Step: Close the shaker with a lid and shake for a maximum of 15 to 20 seconds.
  4. Step: Garnish the finished Aperol Paloma with the desired citrus slices.

Tip: If the Aperol Paloma is too strong for you…

Because of the tequila, the Paloma has significantly more revolutions than a normal Aperol Spritz. If the summer drink is too strong for you, you can modify the cocktail a little: either by adding sparkling water and a little more grapefruit juice – or you can simply reduce the amount of alcohol (i.e. less tequila, Aperol and orange liqueur).
