French clears away in the casino: stake two euros – profit 2.6 million euros

In a casino in France, a 30-year-old cracked the jackpot with just two euros. He is now starting the new year as a millionaire.
Small effort, huge effect: A Frenchman started the new year with a profit of millions. In a casino in the municipality of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux near Lille, he cleared the so-called “Megapot” on January 2nd at exactly 8:06 pm. According to the casino, there were more than 2.6 million euros in the pot. “It’s crazy,” the company wrote on Facebook.
The 30-year-old had only thrown a mere two euros into the slot machine as a bet, now he’s a millionaire. According to a statement from the Partouche group, to which the casino belongs, the man only plays occasionally. The winner is therefore from northern France.
Record profit in the casino at the start of the year
The lucky guy had already gambled with his mother in the casino the day before. That is why he decided not to use more than 40 euros that evening, the company reported. However, that was not necessary: with a single two-euro coin, the million-dollar jackpot belonged to him. 38 casinos and a total of 165 slot machines are involved in the jackpot. In the past ten years there have been 66 winners, about half of them have won more than one million euros, said the Partouche group.
Most recently, in September 2020, a player won 2.1 million euros from the jackpot – he was successful in a casino in Lyon. In any case, the 2.6 million euros are a record for the casino in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux: The casino, which opened in 1973, has never made a higher profit. So far, the record has been just under two million euros. Now new players can try their luck: the jackpot is currently again at more than 850,000 euros.
