Bernardo Bader becomes a professor at the Munich Art Academy – Munich

The architect Bernardo Bader was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich for the summer semester of 2023. He will succeed Carlo Baumschlager in the master’s program in architecture and art. Bader, born in 1974 in the Bregenzerwald, combines in his work “a deep awareness of regionality with the skilful execution of rooms true to the material”, according to the university.

The Austrian has received several awards for his wooden buildings, receiving the Piranesi Award in 2012 and 2017 and the Aga Khan Prize for Architecture in 2013. Bernardo Bader gained teaching experience from 2012 to 2017 as a lecturer at the Institute for Architecture and Spatial Development at the University of Liechtenstein and in 2018 also at the FHS St. Gallen. Bader’s work has been presented in numerous exhibitions, most recently at the Kunstverein Hohenlohe, the Deutsches Architekturmuseum, the Architekturzentrum Wien and the DG Kunstraum in Munich.
