Bernard Casoni seizes the industrial tribunal after his dismissal by US Orléans

The day after his dismissal by US Orléans, Bernard Casoni announced Tuesday through his lawyer that he was going to take legal action to the industrial tribunal to defend himself. “Bernard Casoni will use all necessary avenues of appeal to have his rights restored and his honor cleared. In particular, from today (Tuesday), he will refer the matter to the Orléans industrial tribunal to contest this anticipated termination,” writes Mr. Didier Lacombe in a press release.

“No more stupid than North Africans”

Monday, US Orleans had announced “the early termination of the employment contract” of his coach, targeted by a preliminary investigation for provocation of hatred or racial discrimination and for public insults of a racist nature opened by the Orléans public prosecutor’s office. He was suspended by his club on October 10.

The former international presented his apologies two days later on France Bleu Orléans, arguing that he was “anything but racist” but admitting to having made “inappropriate comments”. The local radio had revealed the coach’s words, held at a press conference. The technician explained that his players were “no more stupid than North Africans”.
