Silvio Berlusconi left a fortune worth billions. The former Italian Prime Minister inherited the largest share and the majority of his holding company Fininvest from his two children from his first marriage.
Silvio Berlusconi, Italy’s late ex-prime minister, left his closest relatives and friends an inheritance worth billions. Especially the two oldest Children, Marina and Pier Silvio, were considered by the politician and businessman. This emerges from the will published on Thursday, from which the Ansa news agency quoted. Together, the two children from Berlusconi’s first marriage will hold a 53 percent majority in Fininvest. Among other things, this is the main shareholder in the European group MediaForEuropa (MFE), which was formerly called Mediaset and is also the majority shareholder of ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany.
Millions also for old companions
In addition, through their shares, Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi gain control of the various villas, properties and other possessions of the family patron, who died at the age of 86. The three children from the second marriage – Barbara, Eleonara and Luigi – each receive compulsory shares in Fininvest.
In addition, Berlusconi inherited 100 million euros each from his last partner, the 33-year-old MP Marta Fascina, and his brother Paolo. 30 million euros go to long-time confidant Marcello dell’Utri. He had once studied with Berlusconi, co-founded his party Forza Italia in 1993 and was later sentenced to prison for various offences. Some of these have been overturned by higher authorities. But he also had to go to prison for a few years because of mafia connections.
