As you move towards the Berlinale Palace, large billboards greet you: “Where everyday life becomes action – Potsdamer Platz!” But action here is only brief when film crews walk on the red carpet, and soon after, even on Saturday evening, Potsdamer Platz is so lonely in the light of the street lamps, as if it were mocking the advertising. It must mean the screens inside, at least there’s something going on on them.
