Berlin: residents oppose corona “walkers” (video)

Watch the video: Residents in Berlin oppose corona “walkers”.

For weeks, people have been gathering at the Gethsemane Church in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district on Monday evening to remind people that critics of the government’s corona measures are a minority in the country. Sheets of paper with handwritten demands hang in front of the church, which was once the gathering place for church opposition in the GDR and became the crystallization point of the GDR citizens’ movement in 1989. Co-organizer of the campaign is Gesine. She formulates her concerns as follows: “I have no request, except the request: Make sure that basic democratic rights are protected and enforced here and please protect the citizens, who actually have a different opinion than the critics of the measures. We are always still the majority. There has never been a Monday when there were more people on the street than I have ever been vaccinated in Germany in one day, have them vaccinated first in Germany every day set in ratio.” The action began when opponents of the Corona measures appeared in unannounced elevators in front of the church. And it is clear that at least some of those gathered want to prevent the Gethsemane Church from being appropriated as a symbol of the GDR opposition by corona skeptics and opponents of vaccination. This Monday the meeting entered its fifth week. Open end.
