It sounds like a deliberate provocation: In front of the Reichstag building in Berlin, a man is flying a drone with a Russian flag attached to it. The man has often been noticed in neighboring Potsdam.

A man has a drone with a Russian flag attached to it next to the Reichstag building in Let Berlin rise. As the Bundestag press office confirmed in Berlin on Saturday, the incident occurred on May 9th. Footage of the drone flight was shared on online networks this weekend.

According to the Bundestag, the missile flew over the middle of Friedrich-Ebert-Platz on the eastern side of the Reichstag building at a height of around 20 meters. The Berlin State Police therefore filed a criminal complaint for violating the Aviation Act. The Bundestag initially did not comment on security issues in connection with drone flights directly at the parliament building.

According to media reports, the drone pilot is a radical supporter of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Police officers recorded his personal details on site. The t-online.de portal said on Saturday that the same man had previously painted the “Z” symbol used by Russian troops in Ukraine on the tower of the former state parliament building in Potsdam and damaged Ukrainian pictures.
