In Berlin, the police shot dead a man on Sunday morning. As reported by the police, the officers were called to an apartment on Löwenberger Strasse in the Lichtenberg district at around 7:50 a.m. When officers got there, they saw a man hitting a woman with an axe. The officers grabbed the service weapon and shot the man.

As the “Berliner Kurier” reports, the operation took place on the ninth floor of a ten-storey apartment building. There, the man and the 27-year-old woman, who is said to be from Ukraine, are said to have argued loudly beforehand. When neighbors heard how much the woman was screaming, they called the police.
