Berlin election: projections see the CDU clearly ahead – the SPD is falling

Left top candidate Klaus Lederer is satisfied with the election forecasts. “If that’s what comes out in the end, then we’ve done quite a bit,” says Lederer. Even the co-chairman of the Left Party in the Bundestag, Dietmar Bartsch, has nothing to complain about the result. “In view of the overall situation, this is a very good result for us,” says Bartsch on ARD. The result shows that the left is back. “It is clear that the dissension of the left is not having a positive effect,” said Bartsch. But this has now been overcome. For the future, too, he could imagine “government responsibility for the left in Berlin” and the “continuation of a centre-left project.” According to the forecasts by ARD and ZDF, the left can count on 12.5 to 13 percent. In 2021 it was 14.1 percent.
