A fire breaks out in a patient room in a nursing home in Berlin. There are several injured.

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a fire in a care facility in Berlin-Hakenfelde. The nursing staff quickly brought numerous other patients outside. The fire brigade then rescued eight people from the building and extinguished the fire, said a fire department spokesman on Sunday.

According to the spokesman, more people would probably have to be taken to hospitals, they were slightly injured. He did not give an exact number at first.

The fire broke out in a patient room on the first floor of the facility. The fire brigade was called around 1.10 p.m. to the operation in the street Am Maselakepark in Berlin-Hakenfelde. According to the spokesman, 100 emergency services were on site.
