A car was hit by a tram at an intersection in Berg am Laim and pushed about 20 meters in front of the tram. The fire department said the driver was seriously injured in the chest area in the accident on Wednesday.
The 63-year-old was able to get out of his Fiat at the intersection of Berg-am-Laim-Straße/Riedgaustraße before the rescue workers arrived. His 68-year-old passenger was slightly injured. Both were taken to a hospital.
According to the fire department, the damage to the tram could not initially be estimated. The car was therefore a total loss. The exact cause of the accident is now being investigated by the police.
