Benjamin doesn’t regret giving up

He was at the end of his rope and he decided to give up. Benjamin left “Koh-Lanta, the sacred fire” on the thirteenth day of adventure, as the faithful of the TF1 show saw on Tuesday.

The infectious otitis from which he suffered since the day before was “the blow of the club”, confides the 23-year-old Marseille sailor to 20 minutes. “I was prohibited from hunting underwater for at least a week,” he says. It came to be added to the other galleys and it is one of the factors which made me crack. »

In addition to his ENT pain, the youngest of the adventurers this season had difficulty coping with weather conditions, including a daunting rain which showered his last night on the island.

“The worst moment of my life”

He also felt weak. “If I had known, I would have gained weight before coming. I would have made reservations because that’s what I lacked in terms of energy, I had nothing more to give physically, ”he says.

After spending a night in the infirmary, the young man had joined his yellow tribe to compete in a final test of comfort, that of the rafts. “That we lost her had no bearing on my decision. I had taken it before the test. In my head, it was all thought out. If we had won, I would have left my share of chicken to the team. »

Looking back, Benjamin has no regrets about forfeiting. “I never thought I’d give up but I don’t regret it because when I think back to that moment, which was the worst of my life, I was at my worst. I had nothing left to give, no more energy, no more resource. I couldn’t go any further physically. »
