Tomorrow’s Midterms are an important election for the currently ruling Democrats. The new Twitter owner Musk has now for Republicans. It is not his first political statement.

Tesla and, more recently, Twitter owner Elon Musk spoke out in favor of the Republicans a day before the US congressional election. “Shared power curbs the worst excesses of either party, so I recommend voting for a Republican Congress when the presidency is Democratic,” the billionaire wrote on Twitter.

During the so-called midterms, all 435 members of the House of Representatives and a third of the 100 seats in the Senate will be re-elected. The Democratic Party of US President Joe Biden could lose the already narrow majority in Congress. The Republicans could thus make governing more difficult and, for example, block legislative projects.

Musk wants to reactivate Trump’s account

Musk only took over the short message service Twitter for around 44 billion dollars at the end of October and then fired around half of the workforce.

In the past, Musk had repeatedly made political statements and sympathized with the Republican Party. Before his purchase, he had also criticized Twitter that freedom of speech was too restricted there. He had spoken out in favor of having the blocked account of ex-President Donald Trump unlocked again.
