Before going to Lourdes, Emmanuel Macron will stop on the Tour de France on Thursday

He adores the “great moments of sporting heroism” provided by the Tour de France and will therefore not depart from tradition.
Emmanuel Macron will be on the Great Loop Thursday, on the occasion of the very
last Pyrenean stage between Pau and Luz-Ardiden, the climax of which will be the ascent of the Tourmalet.

“Embrace the country and its landscapes”

“It’s one of those moments when you can embrace the country and its landscapes,” the head of state recently told the magazine. Zadig, also testifying to his love for the Hautes-Pyrénées, where he spent his holidays with his grandparents in his childhood. Before getting into the car of race director Christian Prudhomme, Emmanuel Macron will start his stage with a visit to the village of Sainte-Marie-de-Campan where he will meet spectators, residents and elected officials.

The presidential visit to the Pyrenees will continue on Friday with first a meeting with the employees of the Bagnères-de-Bigorre site where the Spanish manufacturer CAF builds railway rolling stock. France Relance has invested 25 million euros in it which will allow, according to the Elysee, the creation on site of 200 to 250 jobs. This provincial stay will end in Lourdes with an exchange with tourism stakeholders and a visit to the sanctuary which is struggling to find its flow of pilgrims in the midst of a health crisis.
