Before the interview with Boris Becker, moderator Steven Gätjen describes what impression the tennis legend made on him in prison.

Boris Becker (55), who was released from prison tomorrow, will answer questions on Sat.1. In the special “Sat.1 Spezial. Boris Becker” presenter Steven Gätjen (50) will ask the tennis icon in prime time at 8:15 p.m. about his experiences in English prison – Becker’s only interview this year. Interviewer Gätjen has now reported how he visited Becker shortly before his release from prison in Huntercombe near London, and what impression the three-time Wimbledon winner made on him on this occasion.

Steven Gätjen: “Boris Becker is willing to clean up and clarify many things”

Accordingly, Becker was particularly troubled by the prison conditions at the beginning of his prison sentence. “After the first four days in solitary confinement, the only goal for him was to get out and work. He just wanted to get some fresh air. He said he would have done everything for it,” reports moderator Gätjen, according to a press release from Sat.1 .

Becker also used the time in prison for reflection. Interviewer Gätjen therefore draws the following conclusion from his visit to the prisoner: “I believe that Boris Becker is really willing to tidy up and clarify many things”. TV viewers can then experience this in the program “SAT.1 Spezial. Boris Becker” on Tuesday, December 20 at 8:15 p.m. on Sat.1 and on Joyn. Following the interview, the broadcaster will show the documentaries “Akt. Spezial: Boris Becker – From Hero to Prisoner” and “Boris Becker – The Player”.
