Because of the Muslim Brotherhood: Criticism of the peace prayer on Marienplatz – Munich

The Munich “Left Alliance Against Anti-Semitism” has sharply criticized the peace prayer planned for Monday evening on Marienplatz. The alliance is particularly bothered by the participation of the Muslim Council – it accuses it of being close to Islamist groups such as Ditib, Milli Görüs and the Muslim Brotherhood.

The peace prayer, for which Mayor Dieter Reiter has taken over the patronage, is intended to be a cross-denominational prayer for peace in the Middle East. The welcome from Sokol Lamaj from the Munich Muslim Council is followed by prayers from the Protestant regional bishop Christian Kopp, cathedral priest Klaus Peter Franzl, Rabbi Jan Guggenheim from the Jewish Community of Munich and the Penzberg Imam Benjamin Idriz. The Left Alliance – which includes the Green Youth, among others – is now calling on Reiter and church representatives to stay away from the event.
