Barca need money to sign Robert Lewandowski. Are the Blaugrana even sacrificing their future figurehead?
In the course of FC Barcelona’s wooing for Bayern star Robert Lewandowski LaLiga boss Javier Tebas spoke up. The 59-year-old does not currently consider the Pole’s commitment to be realistic – and in view of Barca’s financial problems, he even talks about selling two top stars.
The Spanish agency Europe Press Tebas said: “Barca already know what to do if they want to sign Lewandowski. The club knows our economic control rules very well. I don’t know if he will sell De Jong or Pedri. But Barca know it’s money collect and sell assets.”
Does FC Barcelona sacrifice Pedri for Lewandowski?
De Jong, who joined from Ajax for more than €85m two years ago, and Pedri are among Barcelona’s most notable players. Especially the 19-year-old Spaniard should actually be one of the figureheads of the club in the future. He extended his contract to 2026 just last yearand his departure would be a big surprise.
