At first it looked as if the “Beatrice Egli Show” had lost the ratings duel against “The Masked Singer” by a landslide. But now it becomes clear: the hit show achieved better value.
Update from April 8, 2024: Baden-Baden – At SWR you can be happy: The latest edition of the “Beatrice Egli Show” was by no means a ratings flop, as initially assumed – on the contrary: as the station announced, the show reached a total of 1.96 million Viewers. Apparently there were false ratings in circulation for the hit show, which also ran on MDR and NDR. Where these come from is still unclear.
It is therefore not true that Beatrice Egli (35) missed the million mark with her show: the total of 1.96 million viewers corresponds to a market share of 8.8 percent – a quota that those responsible are quite happy about. “We are very satisfied with the result,” says a press release about the odds. This also makes it clear: The “Beatrice Egli Show” was ahead of “The Masked Singer” – at least when you add up the total viewers of SWR, MDR and NDR. The ProSieben broadcast achieved a total reach of 1.46 million, i.e. around 500,000 fewer viewers.
Missed the million mark: “Beatrice Egli Show” can’t do anything against the competition
First report from April 7, 2024: Some shows are a must for pop fans throughout the year: In addition to the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” or the parties with Florian Silbereisen (42), DSDS winner Beatrice Egli’s own show is also considered popular. But on Saturday evening (April 6, 2024), hardly anyone tuned in compared to the direct competition.
When the TV program for the beginning of April was published in February, some viewers were already suspicious – because the “Beatrice Egli Show” was not planned for ARD, but was intended to be broadcast in the third programs. Apparently a bitter setback for the singer, who, after starting out on Swiss television and on MDR and Co., had only just made it onto the main channel with her own show. But ARD explained the move of the “Beatrice Egli Show” to the third in detail – it was by no means intended as a downgrade.

In terms of ratings, things weren’t exactly looking rosy in terms of the total number of viewers from SWR, MDR and NDR – the three channels had a total of 759,000 viewers, and Beatrice Egli remained well below the million mark when it came to the total audience aged three and over. Not a good performance compared to the direct competition at ProSieben, where a new season of “The Masked Singer” has started.
“The Masked Singer” wins prime time among young audiences
The rate show with Matthias Opdenhövel (53) scored loudly dwdl.de a total reach of 1.46 million people, which corresponds to a market share of 6.9 percent. This meant that ProSieben was far behind the ARD crime thriller and “The Quiz Champion” on ZDF – but was able to prevail in the young target group (14 to 49 years old). 0.67 million people watched there, giving the station 15.5 percent of the market share. Only the “Tagesschau” was able to post better figures in the advertising-relevant target group.
However, Beatrice Egli does not appear in the list of the best 25 programs of the day – neither in the overall audience nor in the target group.
