STORY: The Beatles released a new music video for their 1966 song “I’m Only Sleeping” on Tuesday. British filmmaker Em Cooper directed and produced the film. With this complex technique, each frame is created individually on an animation desk, as Cooper recently explained in London: “The film consists of individual oil frames. I think there are over 1300. But yes, I paint a frame, then I wipe it away and paint the next picture and the next and the next. That’s my process. So it’s really old school, picture by picture.” The song is part of the 1966 album “Revolver” and is now part of a reissue that also includes remixes and an expanded track list. The video release for “I’m Only Sleeping” premiered at London’s immersive venue OUTERNET.
