“Beat the star”: Commentator shocks with Reichsbürger saying | Entertainment

Two comedy stars became opponents on Saturday evening. Michael Mittermeier (57) and Olaf Schubert (55) competed against each other in “Schlag den Star”. This promised to be a fun competition – but a comment in the studio suddenly silenced all the laughter.

It wasn’t a close race: Schubert won one game after the other, while Mittermeier struggled to catch up.

As always, the show, hosted by Elton (52), lasted into the night. But late at night, commentator Ron Ringguth (57) was startled with a statement that was clearly off base.

“The small Saxon imperial citizen flag…”

In the match ball game “Flip Table” a disc had to be flicked across several tables. A blue and a red flag marked the playing areas. While the two candidates struggled, Ringguth explained about a game situation that affected Schubert: “Where the small Saxon Reich citizen flag is!”

Moderator Elton looked up in disbelief: “Did you just…?!” Olaf Schubert (from Plauen in Saxony) came around the table and asked Elton distraught: “Huh? What did he say?” Ringguth tried to appease: “It was a joke.”

Elton, shocked: “You know how people react to jokes here.” Horrified, the moderator reached for his cell phone: “Oh God, what is Twitter doing?”

Of course there was a heated discussion there. Several voices even called for Ringguth to be kicked out. Others were amused by the derailment.

Ringguth has already made a mistake once

Not his first misstep: Three years ago, Ringguth also made a mistake on “Schlag den Star”. Lilly Becker, a candidate at the time, complained during a game that her goggles were fogging up: “I can’t see!” Ron Ringguth commented: “It’s not I can’t breathe, but I can’t see…”

A nasty reference to the death of George Floyd, who died in a brutal police operation in the USA. His last words: “I can’t breathe” because a police officer cut him off with his knee. ProSieben only apologized for Ringguth’s misstep 80 minutes later in the live broadcast.

Olaf Schubert wins “Beat the Star”

In the “ Schlag den Star” studio, Michael Mittermeier was able to win “Tisch snipsen” and thus win another game. In the end, however, the favorite still triumphed: Shortly before 2 a.m., Olaf Schubert won “Schlag den Star” and received the suitcase containing 100,000 euros.
