BBC icon Michael Parkinson dies aged 88

British presenter Michael Parkinson, who was on the air until 2023, died at home at the age of 88, his family said in a statement. “After a brief illness, Sir Michael Parkinson passed away peacefully at home last night with his family,” she said.

With a career that spanned seven decades, the journalist was able to interview more than 2,000 stars, as he claimed, including Madonna, Mohamed Ali, Elton John, and even Meg Ryan.

The beloved Brit presenter was best known for his talk show Parkinson’swhich he presented from 1971 to 1982, before returning to the screen from 1998 to 2007. He was married to presenter Mary Parkinson, and leaves behind three children.
