Bayeux hospital employee suspected of serving poisoned coffee

He is suspected of pouring Hypnovel, a powerful drug used for sedation, into a hot drink. An employee of the Bayeux hospital (Calvados) was taken into police custody on Tuesday for having poisoned several colleagues with coffee last week.

According to West France, which revealed the affair this Wednesday, this 49-year-old man allegedly served the drink to at least four hospital workers. When they left the break room of the emergency department last Wednesday, they found themselves in a state of drowsiness or loss of consciousness, and had to be quickly taken care of, recalls the daily.

Toxicological analyzes are underway to determine the doses served. The investigation continues to determine the motivations for this malicious act.
