At FC Bayern, contract negotiations are underway with four stars – and again it’s all about money. Leon Goretzka makes a hidden appeal to his colleagues.

Especially when it comes to contract negotiations: Some stars then call for salary demands that the bosses are not willing to pay. The record champions are currently dealing with the expiring contracts of some key players.
The working papers of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry expire at the end of next season. And of course there is also a discussion about remuneration. For Goretzka, money doesn’t play the main role
“To be honest, it’s hard for me to talk about sacrifices given the salaries we get,” said the DFB international. “Ultimately everyone has to know for themselves, but the total package that we get at Bayern Munich is very attractive for every footballer in the world.” The statements can also be understood as an appeal to his fellow players not to focus on financial aspects in their negotiations.
Goretzka himself had stated as part of his contract extension that money was not the main factor for him: “There are certainly more important things than money. When people say that contract negotiations are only about squeezing out the last euro, they often have the wrong idea Picture.” The “identification with the club and the team” also has a high value for him. Difficult contract negotiations at FC Bayern
It is still unclear how Lewandowski, Neuer, Müller and Gnabry will continue. Thomas Müller’s advisor was last spotted at the Bayern office on Säbener Strasse, according to reports the talks are about to be concluded. In the case of Serge Gnabry, however, the negotiations are said to be more difficult, according to media reports. According to the “Bild” newspaper, Gnabry demands an annual salary of 18 million euros.
It is unclear whether it is financially possible for Bayern to extend the contract with all four top performers. In the Corona period, the club had to accept major losses. Should one of the players not renew his contract, he would ideally have to be sold during this summer break in order to still be able to collect a transfer fee. David Alaba left FC Bayern for Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer, and Niklas Süle is also moving to Borussia Dortmund for free after the season.
