Bayern: plans for the blackout – Bayern

In view of the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis, fears of a widespread power failure are growing everywhere. Many municipalities in Bavaria are taking precautions for this, and some are now recommending this to their citizens.

If you have enough equipment and supplies for a fourteen-day camping holiday at home, you should be on the safe side for the time being: a gas cooker along with cartridges, tin cans, legumes, pasta, rice, crispbread, sugar, UHT milk, the usual medication, plus two and a half liters of water per capita and enough cash for two weeks’ shopping, preferably “in small bills and coins”. In any case, the 64,000 residents of Rosenheim should be able to make ends meet in the event of a blackout, according to the latest recommendations from their town hall. The city administration recently put these tips in the form of a flyer in the mailboxes, giving the local DIY stores a sharp increase in sales of gas cartridges and water canisters in the short term. However, she has drawn some ridicule from herself and the anger of those who have since been unable to calm themselves or their anxious relatives. But the blackout issue is more relevant than ever in Bavaria.
