Employers, trade unions and the state government want to prepare Bavaria’s economy for the upcoming change processes. The Bavarian Business Association (VBW), the DGB in Bavaria and Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) signed a corresponding agreement on Tuesday in Munich on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting. It says: The common goal is to “secure Bavaria’s economic strength and the prosperity of its people in this change and, if possible, expand them. This requires a continuous effort on the part of companies, employees and state administration”.
The economy is currently undergoing far-reaching structural change worldwide. “Decarbonization, digitization and demographic change present companies and society with major challenges.” There are also international security risks. The aim must be to preserve jobs and industrial added value in Bavaria. “At the same time, it must be ensured that companies have the necessary specialists with the right qualifications at their disposal. Training and further education, which enable people to master new tasks and activities, is of decisive importance.”
