Bavaria has elected a new state parliament. According to current projections, the CSU with Prime Minister Markus Söder is clearly ahead. It is unclear whether the Free Voters or the AfD will secure second place. Here you will find all the results and graphics for the state elections.

IA new state parliament was elected in Bavaria on Sunday, October 8th – 9.8 million people were eligible to vote. The polls closed at 6 p.m.

According to the ARD projection at 12:53 a.m. by infratest dimap, the CSU has 37.0 percent (minus 0.2 percentage points compared to 2018), the Free Voters have 15.9 percent (plus 4.3 percentage points), and the AfD has 14.8 percent (plus 4.6 percentage points), the Greens to 14.4 percent (minus 3.2 percentage points), the SPD to 8.3 percent (minus 1.4 percentage points), the FDP to 3.0 percent ( minus 2.1 percentage points) and all other parties combined – including the Left – to 6.6 percent (minus 2.0 percentage points).

According to the ZDF projection at 10:09 p.m. by the elections research group, the CSU has 36.6 percent (minus 0.6 percentage points), the AfD has 15.9 percent (plus 5.7 percentage points), the Free Voters has 15, 1 percent (plus 3.5 percentage points), the Greens to 14.9 percent (minus 2.7 percentage points), the SPD to 7.9 percent (minus 1.8 percentage points), the FDP to 2.9 percent (minus 2 .2 percentage points) and all other parties combined – including the Left – to 6.7 percent (minus 1.9 percentage points).

The ARD projection means the following distribution of seats: CSU 85 seats, Free Voters 36 seats, AfD and Greens each 32 seats and SPD 17 seats. The ZDF projection means the following distribution of seats: CSU 83 seats, AfD 36 seats, Greens 35 seats, Free Voters 33 seats and SPD 18 seats.

At 72.5 to 76 percent, voter turnout was higher than in 2018. At that time it was 72.4 percent.
