Bavarian Hunting Association: Ernst Weidenbusch under pressure – Bavaria

Shouting attacks, threats, house bans, layoffs: In the Bavarian hunting association, a wild argument is raging about the association’s chairman and CSU MP Ernst Weidenbusch. He could soon be voted out of office.

Recently, the controversial president of the hunters and member of the CSU state parliament, Ernst Weidenbusch, once again caused a stir among hunters, forest owners and foresters, but also in his party and the state government. “It hurts us all,” explained Weidenbusch at a panel discussion when asked how the CSU felt about the “forest before wild” principle. At the same time, Weidenbusch pointed out that his party colleague Michaela Kaniber, who as Minister of Forestry is responsible for hunting in Bavaria, had recently said repeatedly that she had never introduced this sentence. A hunting magazine promptly ran the headline: “CSU against forest before game too”.
