In a large-scale child pornography raid, there were searches in all seven administrative districts on Tuesday. “Bavaria has optimized its law enforcement agencies and further increased the pressure on operators and users of Darknet platforms and relevant exchange platforms to be prosecuted,” the Ministry of Justice announced on Tuesday. The searches were about the suspicion of distribution and possession of child pornographic content. However, the ministry did not initially give any details. The police, public prosecutor’s office and ministry want to provide information on the background and initial results on Wednesday. In May 2021, the largest coordinated search operation on child pornography in Bavaria, according to Justice Minister Georg Eisenreich (CSU), was called “Operation Wake-up Call”. At that time, 49 properties were searched and dozens of suspects identified.
