Bavaria: Slight increase in housing permits – Bavaria

A total of 41,221 building permits for apartments were issued in Bavaria in the first six months of this year. As the Bavarian State Office for Statistics announced on Monday, this is 0.7 percent more than in the same period last year. Almost 86 percent of the apartments are planned in new residential buildings. At 58 percent, the majority of the apartments will be in multi-family houses. Most housing permits (around 35 percent) were granted in Upper Bavaria. With a minus of 4.8 percent, however, Upper Bavaria is one of the four Bavarian administrative districts with a declining volume of approvals compared to the same period in 2021. Swabia recorded the sharpest decline in housing approvals with minus 15 percent, the largest increase in Middle Franconia with a plus of 38.3 Percent.
