Bavaria: Pupils get more time in final exams – Bavaria

The Bavarian students will again have a little more time for the written final exams this year due to the corona. Ten minutes are added at all types of schools for every hour of regular examination time, as the Ministry of Education announced on Sunday. The maximum extension is 30 minutes.

In the past school year, isolation and quarantine obligations had a noticeable impact on everyday teaching, said Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Freie Wahler). Therefore “we will continue to grant a time allowance for the final exams in 2023”.

In doing so, he wants to avoid disadvantages for Bavarian school leavers, “not only in comparison to the times before the pandemic, but also in comparison with the other federal states in terms of equal opportunities”.
