The fire in an asylum seekers accommodation in Nördlingen has now been put out. One person died. Did a child cause the fire?

The fire department has the fire in one Asylum accommodation in Nördlingen, Bavaria, deleted. The fire, in which one person died, broke out on Sunday afternoon for reasons that are still unclear, the police said.

As the “BR” reported, the mayor of Nördlingen informed the broadcaster that a child could have caused the fire. As a police spokesman said this morning, this could neither be confirmed nor ruled out based on the current status of the investigation.

According to police information, around 130 people lived in the asylum seekers’ home. The police initially did not provide any further information about the identities of the dead man or the three people who were injured in the fire.

The property was so badly damaged by the fire that it had to be demolished, a police spokesman said. The residents were initially accommodated in a hall. The district office wanted to find alternative accommodation on Sunday evening.
