Young men are said to have given the Hitler salute three times in one evening at the Oktoberfest in Munich, sometimes to cheers.

Two Italian tourists are said to be at the Oktoberfest in Munich showed the Hitler salute. As the police announced on Thursday, the two 24-year-old men filmed themselves with their cell phones and were cheered on by their companions.

The two men were temporarily arrested. On the same evening, a 19-year-old from Munich also gave a Hitler salute in a festival tent, it said. He then hit a 47-year-old at the next table in the face with his fist, causing his lip to bleed. The aggressive 19-year-old was taken to the Wiesnwache.

All three men were charged with using the symbols of unconstitutional organizations. Since the two Italians do not have a permanent residence in Germany, the Munich public prosecutor’s office ordered them to be transferred to pre-trial detention.
