When Prime Minister Markus Söder and Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber sign the new “Future Agreement on Agriculture in Bavaria” in the Kaisersaal of the Munich Residence this Monday, everything will certainly be in place for a feel-good event. The rows of seats in the spacious state room from the early 17th century will be fully occupied, a musical ensemble will be seated at the front of the lectern and Prime Minister Markus Söder will sing an extremely friendly song of praise for the farmers in Bavaria in his celebratory speech. Then Söder, Kaniber, farmers’ president Günther Felßner and state farmer Christine Singer will sign the new future contract. There will be words of thanks, then we will disperse. So everything is fine, one would think.
